I am Mònica Planas Esteve, a nonconformist artist, alchemist of life, idealist by nature, rebel with a cause, and a natural fighter. A resilient soul. I rebel against the injustices of the matrix and feel that we are at a crucial moment for the awakening of humanity, there has never been so much information available for those who seek it. And you, what do you choose? To go with the flow and eat crickets in your 15-minute city or to be an active part of the change? Because if we change, the world changes.
Art is for me a refuge of expression and emotional containment, the engine that always helped me move forward and keep going despite life’s challenges, which at my tender age of 45, were not few.
My mother had the soul of an artist but never pursued her dreams. After being diagnosed with cancer, she decided to leave by her own will. I was 28 years old and that was a turning point in my life. I opened myself to the world of alternative therapies, astrology, energy therapies, family constellations, past life regressions, and art therapy.
After healing myself, I accompanied adolescents in foster homes and young people leaving care, proving the importance of healing our inner child to become empowered adults. Because in life, everything is a matter of attitude, and we came to play, remember?

This painting immediately caught my attention. The colors, the light in the image, and especially the serenity it transmitted to me when looking at it. It’s as if the siren, although a marine being, is rooted and transported to a dreamlike and peaceful place. In these times, being able to look and feel transported to a place of calm is truly a gift for the soul. Mònica paints images that help the viewer travel to those sacred places within us.
“My collection is windows to life, beauty, emotion, and feeling. I mainly collect landscapes, floral motifs, and female figures. Nature and the good and beautiful things of our land, and especially art, are the greatest and most valuable wealth we humans have. The contemplation in my home of my paintings comforts me and makes me feel happier and more content every day”.
In the middle of a cafeteria, I look at your painting “Movement (2024)” and a serenity overwhelms me that allows me to abstract myself. When the iridescent skin of the sea stirs and becomes rough, a siren with fire hair floats in the serenity of her deep blue heart, flowing in the shelter of unfathomable currents where light sneaks through a maze of waves and silence floods the calm.
